How the calculation is built
Buffer / contingency
Applied to your base rate × time estimate, to absorb scope creep and revisions. Defaults to 10%, fully adjustable.
Platform fee
Applied after the buffer — this models a marketplace (like Upwork or Fiverr) taking its cut of the amount you're actually asking for, not the bare base rate.
Tax / deduction estimate
Applied last, after the platform fee — your own rough estimate of what you'll keep, not a calculated tax liability. This tool never calculates or validates tax obligations.
